One snippet of dream I had last night as I was starting to fall back to sleep basically just had me getting a strange version of a sonic screwdriver for my Gaia avatar.

My next dream segment involved a time traveler in a very specific trajectory. She could only go back and forth between present day and mid 1800's, in the same home in a Wild West area. People would whisper about her as The Recycler but I didn't get the meaning. It was almost reverent. She would obsessively collect things and throw it into the yard... broken china, bits of bone, etc would be tossed during the Wild West and presumably found again in present day.

I think I just have all things Whovian on the brain.

Looking at these random measurements from various points over the last seven years, it looks like this is just my average weight. I've gone down to 170, and up to 225+, but this is my returning average.

This does not mean that I'm actually content with it, but it must mean something. Side note, my sugar-free Lent pledge was less successful than intended, though I DID avoid chips/crackers as promised. No weight change. Years that I've been more honest with cutting out processed sugar showed more weight loss.

Ok, so there's this anime convention in Memphis, July 8 - 10, 2011. It's small and likely to be prime rowdy material. I'd like to go because supporting local cons is good.

Selling points:
(1) Cons are fun with friends. You are my friends. Let's have fun together. :)
(2a) Small cons are better for finding random new people to hang out with.
(2b) Small cons also tend to have more unpredictable things going on. Less rules.
(3a) Cheap - prereg by A-Kon and it's only $25.
(3b) Cheap for hotel too - $90/night if you book before A-Kon time (it's a decent looking Hilton). If only 2 people go, that's still an affordable $45 each.
(4) It's not very far away - about as far as New Orleans is, roughly 3.5 hour drive going the speed limit.
(5) When the con gets dull, we're still in Memphis! There's THINGS to do there.
(6) We'll have con-fever after A-Kon and this can help tide us over until Dragon*Con in September :)

Ideally, we could drive up there Friday after people get off work, or Saturday morning if we just want to pay for one night in the hotel. We could even just go Sat and drive back, but that's kinda uninspiring - nights at cons are half the fun!

PS1: MechaCon, the free anime con in New Orleans is August 26-28, 2011. Worth a day trip at least.
PS2: Dragon*Con is September 2-5, 2011. We have three rooms booked between us in House Hufflepuff (the Hyatt). If you are interested in going, let me know. We're gonna puppy-pile my room.
PS3: The Grand Masquerade, the V-LARP con, is in New Orleans, September 15-18, 2011. Kyle is going for sure.
PS4: Anime Weekend Atlanta is in Atlanta from September 30 - October 2, 2011. Havard usually goes to this one.
