During my Insanely Big and Looming Project™ at work, I spent many hours in the office and not many waking hours elsewhere. My laptop didn't bother coming home to follow me since I'd not have time to play online once I got home (a nightcap sent me promptly to sleep each night for the last couple of weeks.) It also doesn't help that the desktop has been out of commission for almost a month now.In short: I was busy and not on the internets much lately.
There are a few bright sides to this. Work-wise, I feel like we put together an amazing re-focused BOOM Jackson magazine that people will like. The articles are interesting and the layout is fresh for Jackson - you won't find pages and pages of party pictures (drunk white people at snobby gatherings) like you do in *ahem* other local magazines. It's awesome. And it comes out soon.
I can't wait.
The other high point?
I'm a winner!
A winner of what, you ask? Only the winner of something totally sweet, that's what. See, this guy Jason of http://www.suvudu.com runs an ambitious review column called 365 Days of Manga. In addition to reading some neat reviews that run the gammut of genres out there, he will also pick a name out of the pixel-based hat and announce a new winner. Like I said, pretty sweet (if you like manga, which I do. You can see a picture of my old manga/anime shelves to the right. They're full, and yet that's only a partial shot of what we have.)Even better than winning 5 manga just for being a reader? Winning 5 manga that I've never read! Seriously, this was a great pick-me-up during an intensely busy time at work. Princess Tutu isn't as fluffy as I thought it was too. Very interesting. I'll slowly read the other three as I gear up for A-Kon next week (OMG, next week? Ack! My cosplay is sooo not assembled. I have no plans on what to pack. We're not totally decided on the caravan plans. Halp halp! It's always like this.)
Next: Check out his new manga, King of RPGs! The site has some new sketches, so I should check it out further for sure. :)
